CORONAVIRUS: TIPS FOR INDUSTRY

  • Increase the frequency of cleaning your public areas (for example, bathrooms in public areas, railings, handles, doors).
  • Provide hand sanitiser and hand wipes for guests and staff.
  • Add signs in staff areas, reminding them to frequently wash their hands.
  • Communicate frequently with your team about Coronavirus and their own health.
  • Send your team and contractors daily updates about what you're doing and any wider updates.
  • Reassure your team that you're doing what you can to protect them.
  • Provide gloves for staff - and face masks if they request them.
  • Know where your team members have been and where their families have been (have they recently returned from countries currently at-risk)?
  • Plan now for a worst-case scenario - what if your staff become sick?
  • Be prepared for a minimum 6-month impact from Coronavirus, including products coming from China.
  • Check on your cleaning suppliers, including contractors, about their current plans to minimise a risk of infection.
  • Encourage cashless payments - don't handle cash
  • Create virtual tours of your tour, resort, business to inspire people who will be looking for a holiday again later
